KOICA organized
a Monitoring and Evaluation Seminar
The
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) organized an interaction program
“KOICA Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Seminar for Development
Effectiveness” on August 27, 2014 in Soaltee Hotel. Around 80 guests from different government
sectors, KOICA’s project partners, representatives from the international/ bilateral
agencies as well as from NGO’s groups shared their great concern and interest
in the program.
This
is the very first time that KOICA Nepal Office has organized M&E seminar to
discuss the various guidelines and tools of the M&E system within KOICA and
Nepal Government structure. The program
includes introductory sessions on M&E system of KOICA, evaluation result of
KOICA’ project and it also intends to share the M&E guideline of Nepalese
government. Similarly representative from UNICEF is also schedule to share
their Health sector M&E system.
The
basic objective of the program is to create linkages between development project
and the overall national development goal.
Similarly, it aims to get a clear vision on how to improve the project
outcome and make more in line with the government priorities. Through this seminar KOICA intends to grasp
broader picture of Nepal’s government M&E roadmap as well as align its
future project to it.
Korea
has been emerging as a development partner in a recent time. Korea through KOICA has been supporting the
Nepalese government in various development assistance programs. However its major area of intervention in
Nepal is Health, Agriculture and Education (TEVT) sector. Being a promising bilateral agency KOICA has
developed its Country Partnership Strategy which aligns mostly with national
periodic plans and strategies. It is committed to design projects that are more
in line with Nepal government’s needs and priorities.
